Lochore
The town has two tiers, the Plate and the Rend – connected by a series of trams, and the southern edge of the city has docks into the Samesed River. Lochore is well known for being a multicultural city, but the disparity between the rich and poor grows larger every day, and civil unrest is brewing beneath the surface. Folks are told to keep their heads down, and if they do honest work, anyone can make it to the Plate!
The Plate
The Plate is a shining disk of steel housing the rich and elite of Lochore. There is a constant glimmering mist about the place from a combination of the high elevation light passing through rising steam from the magi-steam engines.Local Locations:
- The Grind: Coffee shop Maggot and Sage worked at. Their motto “Welcome to the Grind, we never stop.”
The Rend
The old part of the city, the Rend holds up the Plate, with many structures being built on top of one another and in extremely tight proximity due to lack of space and structural integrity. Most people in the Rend can’t afford the pure magic powered magi-steam engines, so most make do with half magic – half coal powered. This results in this crowded part of town being covered in a thin layer of soot and grime.Local Locations:
- The Nash family apartment: Where Maggot grew up and Mia currently lives
- The Silverdawn Guildhouse: Merchant Guild where the gang got their first job
